Your eyes are not deceiving you, that’s art by Siren Head creator Trevor Henderson! Recently revealed over at Dread Central, the trade paperback edition of Dead Mall (the comic written by me, with art by David Stoll and letters by Justin Birch) hits comic and bookstore shelves in June 2023, but is available for pre-order right now! If you want to hear David, Trevor, and I talk about the series (and “mall horror” as a subgenre) with DC editor Mary Beth McAndrews: please click over to Dread.
The team and I couldn’t be prouder of this book, I couldn’t be happier with the support we’ve received from Dark Horse (both on an editorial and a promotional level), and we’re so excited to bring you the whole bloody story collected as a graphic novel (which, don’t worry, the trade is going to include some special goodies for everyone who’s already read the miniseries as single issues).
I’ve talked ad nauseam about how important pre-orders are for prose books, and the same goes (maybe even moreso) for comics. So I won’t bore you with why, but please pre-order (amazon, B&N, or through your local comic shop).
Also, unrelated, but big news I’d forgotten to post until right now:
Yes, the deal’s been in place for a while, but a few months ago Deadline officially announced the Clown in a Cornfield movie. Eli Craig (Tucker & Dale vs Evil) is attached to direct from a script by Carter Blanchard. I’m overjoyed, to say the least, and so happy to be working with Temple Hill to be bringing this dream to reality.
But that’s not all that was announced in that article. If you read carefully they spill that… yes, I’m writing Clown in a Cornfield 3. The subtitle and synopsis to that one’s still under-wraps (believe me: it’s good), but it’s a great time to make sure you have the first two books and are caught up on the series:
